Dear Pa,
Happy thanksgiving. Mom is making turkey for dinner while the girls and I pray for your safety. I hope that you defeat those Johny Rebs and return home safely. Auntie came over to visit just a while ago and she is helping mom cook. I can't wait for you to return and when you do maybe you could teach me some new facts. I miss you a lot, please come back to us in one piece and maybe send us a letter.
