Avery: Blog Of The Day

I was surprised with the opera.  I found it interesting that they made it a comedy.  I thought it was going to be a lot of people on stage, standing in one spot and singing.  The costumes were a little colorful.  They were soft colors, but they would also wear a lot of layers of clothing.  My favorite costume was the queen's.  She looked like the bride of Frankinstien.  She was also my favorite singer.  She hit some really high notes that didn't hurt your ears.  The orchestra was amazing!  I liked when the people played the flute, when the main character pretended to play his magic flute.  I liked where we sat.  We sat in one of the closest seats there.  We couldn't see the orchestra, but we heard everything perfectly.  Last time we went we sat way up high and had to use binoculars.  It was hard to hear and see everything from up high.
The story "The Magic Flute" was about a young, handsome prince, named Tamino,  who has to save the mean queen's daughter, Pamina.  Pamina was stolen by an evil man who fell in love with her.  Tamino later met the lonely bird catcher named Papajeno.  Tamino and Papajeno would run into many obstacles on the way to save her.  At the end Tamino and Pamina were married and Papajeno and his crush, Papajena got married too.
The crowd wasn't bad.  80 percent of the people the there were dressed normal like my family.  The other 20 percent of the people were dressed up super fancy.  Some girls were wearing expensive prom dresses.  Also at the end of the opera when everyone was bowing, there was a lot of clapping.   We clapped for almost 10 minutes.  I thought the opera was amazing and awesome.  Everyone loved it and thought it was amazing too.
