Avery: Blog Of The Day

Fitzhugh Johnston Pettigrew
Confedeterate

Mr. Pettigrew was a loyal, nice man at the age of 53. He joined the confederate army because he thinks that he has a right from god and himself to own slaves. He owned a complete total of 71 slaves.  He made sure that everyone of them treats his wife like their queen. He lived with his beautiful wife, Sally Randolph, and his old father at the age of 72, Granville Pettigrew, in Lynchburg, Virginia. He had two sons that joined the confederate army earlier on. As he grew up he got a very good education at a pleasant private school in England.

Mrs. Randolph was a very pretty woman who worked very hard to watch the 71 slaves and take care of Mr. Pettigrew's father, Granville Pettigrew. She talked and treated to the slaves as if she were their mother, hoping that they would someday treat them like she is. Other than watching after slaves and Mr. Pettigrew, she also worked as a social leader of region and worked as a mistress of the plantation (a planter).

James Brooks
Confederate
Mr. Brooks was a hardworking young, handsome man at age of 23. He lived in Richmond, Virginia with his father, Samuel Brooks, and his nice girlfriend, Amelia Smith. James' opinion on slavery is that he thinks it's okay, because the blacks seem happy enough. James' education is very good and high leveled. I am not so sure were went to school though.

Samuel Brooks was an old man at the age of 55. He lived with James and his lovely girlfriend, Amelia. Samuel worked as a great clerk in the Confederacy War Department in Richmond. His opinion on slavery is interesting. He thought that it was evil, but at the same time, necessary for the Southern way of life. One thing that Samuel Brooks knows, but would not tell, is that he realizes that the South is very overmatched by the North.
