Avery: Blog Of The Day

The oldest ancestral panda fossils, Ailuropoda Lufengensesis are over 9 million years old. The fossils were found in southern China. A long time ago pandas were small, about half the size of our pandas today. They used to eat meat too, but when they evolved they started eating healthy plants, like bamboo. Sometimes while "evolving" some pandas used to eat each other. Today there are only 1,000 giant pandas. Sadly the Ailuropoda lufengensesis are not alive anymore.
