Connor: Blog Of The Day

The Trial on Mt Olympus
By Connor
It was an average day for all the gods.  Aphrodite was dancing Zeus was doing target practice and Ares was fighting over just about everything.  Suddenly Zeus walked into the throne room and found Poseidon dead on the floor.  Immediately Zeus blamed Hades because he was the only immortal to have a grudge against Poseidon as well as Zeus.  A trial was called and because none of the gods could be trusted to remain neutral they decided that a mortal would probably be the best choice.  Judge James then asked if Hades had an attorney which he didn't.  Hades decided that Athena who happened to know the most about everything would pick his lawyer.  As candidates for Hades attorney Athena selected two living beings and one dead soul.  The spirit was Perseus who despised his father as Hades had.  One living mortal selected was a man named Kyle Jones.  The other mortal was a man named Phoenix Wright a defense attorney who was famous on Earth.  Hades had to decide between famous and not quite famous.  Hades decided that he wanted a professional attorney to defend him.  On the contrary Zeus decided that Kyle Jones was good enough to serve as prosecuting attorney rather than Phoenix Wright's archenemy Miles Edgeworth.  The trial began and the judge said "Order, Order in the court."  Because of this Aphrodite interrupted the trial to ask for Ambrosia.  Everyone yelled at her about not eating in court and Hades' trial resumed.  The murder weapon was a sword with the symbol of the underworld inscribed on it.  Kyle Jones started questioning whether or not it belonged to Hades.  Hades said "Yes mortal that sword belongs to me, but you see I was in the underworld at the moment of the murder and thus could not have done it."  Hades was most likely telling the truth because no one remembered him entering Olympus on that day except for when he was called for the trial.  Next to the body was a note that said Hades on it.  This would prove Hades guilty if it weren't for the fact that Poseidon died instantly.  Phoenix pointed out that the victim could not possibly have written the note.  Kyle knowing what Phoenix was hinting at said "Of course the murderer wrote the note, but in this case it was to not be found guilty."  Examining the note everyone noticed that it was written in ashes and had a few burn marks.  The defense eventually found a loophole and said "Look closely at the note next to the burn mark is a lipstick smudge as though someone kissed it."  Aphrodite, Athena, and Hera as well as Persephone and Demeter were all shocked.  James decided that they would test every goddess' lipstick color to see if it matched.  Athena's lipstick color was blue and did not match the pink lipstick smudge.  Hera tested negative so did Persephone and Demeter.  Aphrodite's lipstick color which was one hundred percent pink matched the smudge.  Phoenix said "Aphrodite had asked Hades to write his name on the paper.  After that Aphrodite had kissed the note before murdering Poseidon."  Kyle and Zeus were sure this was not the case and Kyle said "Aphrodite do you claim to have tested your lipstick before the murder?"  Aphrodite said "Yes, but I did not give the paper to Hades."  Kyle decided "Aphrodite had practiced kissing the paper to see if her lipstick was the perfect shade of pink.  Leaving the paper on the floor Aphrodite had gone on a date with Ares."  Hades started growling at everyone and called Phoenix the worst attorney.  James the judge brought down the gavel and said "I hereby declare the defendant Hades, god of the underworld, Guilty."  The moment the judge said this the you won screen popped up and Kyle woke up.  "Must have been a dream although it was a lot like my fourteen year old son's favorite video game."  With that Kyle got in his car and drove to his office in Round Rock where he worked on insurance cases.  The End
