This is an animal that we might see in Death Valley.
Desert Pupfish
The desert pupfish is 2 1/2 inches long. It only lives six to nine months. It eats brown and green algae. They are called "living fossils" because they have lived for many thousands of years. Their natural predators are birds and flatworms. We are going to go see these at the salt creeks when we visit Death Valley. Here is a video you can watch about the pupfish.
