Blue whales are endangered animals.  They were hunted by whalers to the point where they were close to extinction.  These unfortunate animals now have to be protected by humans because they are endangered.  I learned that blue whales songs aren't just to sound pretty.  The whales use this music to communicate to each other like for mating.  They also use these songs for the same reason bats use echolocation.  They make sure there isn't an underwater object blocking its path.  You can find the whale songs if you go to wikipedia and search Blue Whale.  These whales are found in the Pacific and Atlantic.
