Daddio: My Egg Drop Idea

I was going to go with a jello-based contraption, like Mommio, but have decided on something different.  I don't want to be accused of copying her good idea.

My idea is that I'm going to buy a watermelon and cut and egg-sized whole in the top.  I'll carve out enough pulp to fit my egg inside, then I'll cover it with some of the scooped-out pulp.  Then I'll put the rind back over the hole and duct-tape it closed.

I think the watery-soft insides of the watermelon will protect my egg.  But even if they don't, how cool will it be to see a watermelon smash onto the drive way?
