This weekend we broke out the Halloween decorations and are gearing up for one of my favorite holidays of the year. So for today's blog of the day, I want you to read the poem "The Ghost of the Murderer's Hut" by Andrew Barton Paterson. It's a spooky poem about... well, that's what I want you to blog about. Read the poem very carefully and then write a story that retells the story in the poem. Basically, I'm asking you to rewrite the poem as a fiction story. Feel free to embellish some of the facts and add your own elements/characters if you want to (but you don't have to)-- just make sure that your story is consistent with Paterson's story in the poem.
You'll also get a bonus if you post up a comment to your own story and tell us what Andrew Barton Paterson's nickname was.
