The dingo is believed to be related closer to the gray wolf rather than the common household dog. Dingoes are believed to have at one point mated with other dogs. I think the reason for this is because in Wales dingoes can be kept as pets. Now this is the only reason that makes since, for dingoes are never near house dogs. A dingo's average diet consists of cattle, sheep, the red kangaroo and a few walabees. Dingoes have also been known to eat house cats which is probably where the myth of dogs eating cats comes from.
