Daddio: Oh Frabjous Day! A Family Day!

For the first time since we went to North Carolina over Christmas, we finally had a real family day. And after working hard in the yard yesterday, we sure deserved it. This morning we took it easy while Mommio went to the grocery store, and then after lunch, we decided to go letterboxing.

Mommio and I are going out to a movie tonight (the creepy looking Shutter Island), so we couldn't go hiking too far away to letterbox, so instead we went to Hamilton Creek Park in Burnet where we had instructions to two letterboxes. Hamilton Creek Park is an awesome little river/creek walk with trees and parks on both sides of the creek.

It was great and the weather was perfect, the kids liked walking around on the river rocks.
But anyhow, we had business to attend to.  LETTERBOXING!  Here I am trying to puzzle out where the first letterbox was hidden.
Look in the direction of 110 degrees from the resting rock and.... WE FOUND IT!
Now we just stamp our book and the letterboxes book with our stamp and we're doing great.
The second one was much harder to find.  After two misfires and 15 minutes wasted looking in the wrong places, we finally found it:
Then we stamp that one into our book and return the favor for the letterbox's journal:
Here's the two stamps we got today:
Finally we came back to Marble Falls and played at the Second Street Park, which was great.  The kids got into the still-freezing water and got muddy.
And then we had fun with the creek-crossing logs.  It was a great day and we're just glad to be getting back to normal activities.
