Daddio: 3/19/10 Blog of the Day

It's almost spring and we've already got things growing in our garden!  In it's honor, I want you to write an acrostic poem about spring.  Here's how to write an acrostic poem:

1. Choose a word-- in this case choose a word about spring or something you like about spring.  You cannot choose the word "spring."

2. Make a list of words or short phrases that describe or relate to your topic word.

3.  Write the topic word vertically.

4. Choose words or phrases that have a pleasing or interesting sound.

5. Write the word or phrase after the correct letter.

That's it!

As an example, here's my acrostic poem.  The thing I like about spring is grass.  So following the steps, here's my poem:

Green
Reedy
Ants
St. Augustine
Slippery when wet
