Daddio: Staycation- Day 6

Yesterday was the Super Museum Day on the Staycation.  We woke up, ate breakfast at the hotel and then made our way to the Houston Museum of Art.  We were expecting to pay $20 for parking- but it was free!  Here's the kids standing next to one of the outside sculptures of a king crab:

This museum was really cool and everyone enjoyed it a bunch.  However, we weren't allowed to take pictures inside.  But before we discovered that, we got some cool pictures of ancient golden art:

And there was some really cool modern art:

The following picture was of a chrome sculpture made entirely out of chrome kitchen utensils.  It was lit so that the whole thing sparkled and was difficult to look at.

After the museum, we went to the park again and ate lunch:

Next to where we were eating was a giant grassy hill that we saw some kids rolling down.  We thought that sounded like the perfect post-lunch Jones activity:

I offered to roll Connor down the hill in his wheelchair, but he thought that Dr. Shapiro wouldn't want him to do that. So we just chilled out and watched the others:

Then the weirdest thing happened.  Jack's head grew ginormous-- like the size of Godzilla-- and he tried eating the park train and all the buildings in the museum district.  Fortunately, Mommio got a picture of it:

Finally, we went to the Health Museum.  What a disappointment. On the website, this looked like the best of all the museums and stuff we were going to see.  It's a museum dedicated to exploring the human body.  It was a "hands-on" exhibit, which was great when we showed up and played with all the brain-teaser stations:

But of the other exhibits, over half were broken and unusable.  It kind of sucked.  We watched a 3D movie on the human body, but the glasses were crappy and you could see a double image the whole time.  The good thing was that entrance to the museum was free and we were only out the $27 we paid to watch the crappy movie.  Oh, and I got this picture of Kiki racing a skeleton on bikes:

We left at about 3:30 and, after stopping at Whataburger for lunch, got home at about 8:30 last night.  Our Houston trip was awesome.
