Mommio: Staycation- Day 7

Home, sweet home.  For day 7 of our staycation we are back at home again.  We tried sleeping in this morning, but that didn't work.  So instead we got a few needed things done before more fun.  Daddio took Avery and Gabe to do our weekly grocery shopping.  They also picked up a surprise for Marney that you'll see in a bit.  While they were gone Mommio, Mason and Kiki unpacked the car from the Houston trip and put all that stuff away.  Not so fun, but well worth it.  Meanwhile, Nana and Marney were having a blast baking Marney's tie dye birthday cake.  It turned out awesome!
After putting away groceries and having a little lunch the toes all headed to Austin to visit an exotic pet store and buy Daddio his belated birthday present- a new pet snake!  The store was really cool- all kinds of interesting animals to look at and Daddio had a hard time picking which snake he wanted but ended up with the most colorful one in the store.  Here's a few shots of the new member of the family, Munch.

By the way, in the picture with Gabe that's Jack's finger poking him in the ear from the comfort of his big-boy booster carseat!  We graduated him to the booster seat today (which he hated at first but after he figured out how to unbuckle he loved), way to go Jack.  No more baby seats at this house. On that note, we also graduated Max to no more pullups at  night today.  He wasn't so happy about it at bedtime, but we know he can do it!
This evening the older four kids are playing a round of Heroscape with Daddio.  And yes, that is Connor looking happy, for the moment.

And while they were doing that I was busy dying girls hair.  Red's red stripes were pretty pink already and Daddio thought she'd like them red again for her birthday party, so he got some more dye and we got to work.  Marney had her stripes refreshed and Kiki had her bangs done.  Ava and I both got a one streak in the front.

Oh- and I almost forgot, Daddio ordered the first copy of his book to be printed today.  After we check it out we'll be able to start ordering more copies for the toes and other family and friends.
Another great staycation day. Only two more to go, I'm already sad about it ending.  We sure have made our cancelled trip to Death Valley one of the best vacation weeks ever!
