Daddio: Staycation- Day 1

As you read in Mommio's post below, she and Marney left us at about 10:30 this morning for Marney's birthday night out.  But we won't let their absence dampen our fun!  We've got a list of stuff to do, and we're going to have a great time doing it.

Our morning started by making Ice Cream.  We wanted to make mint chocolate chip, so we mixed together chocolate syrup, cream, milk, sugar and peppermint extract:

 

Then we poured it into the ice cream maker for 25 minutes, for the last five minutes, we put in cut up peppermint patties:

Then we just poured it into a container:

And then... VOILA!  Mint chocolate ice cream!

Next we needed to make peanut butter cookies.  I had no lack of helpers to make peanut butter cookies:

The kids told me (wrongly) that Mommio didn't use the mixer, so I stirred together four cups of sugar and peanut butter by hand.  Whoa.

Then we plopped it onto the pans and cooked them up.  I think it was about eight dozen cookies!

Finally, we had a MarioKart session (they voted against a tournament).  They took it seriously and had a great time.

And somehow, we were able to do all of this, and still wash and put away all the laundry and do all the dishes (including the ones we got dirty with all the cooking).  Tonight: PIZZA!
