Avery has worked hard over the last six months to reach her goal of getting a Russian tortoise for her 10th birthday...she researched for many hours online, took pages of notes, wrote a
paper about the history and care of Russians and talked with a rescue group and a friend of ours who is a wildlife expert (thanks Stephanie!). She took it all very seriously and we are really proud of her for sticking to her goal and making it happen. Yesterday, the day finally arrived and her hatchling Russian tortoise- Pedro- arrived in the mail (captive bred by a reputable breeder in Las Vegas). He's adorable! And if Avery takes good care of him he might even be around for her 50th birthday.
