Daddio: 2/16/11 Blog of the Day

For today's blog of the day, I want you to write a very, very short story.  I want the story to have a beginning, middle and end, and have a main character.  There needs to be some kind of obstacle or conflict in the middle of the story that the main character has to try to overcome at the climax of the story.  And, of course, the end of the story has to have a resolution- you can't just stop your story in the middle of it.

But here's the catch.  Your story can only be five sentences long and each sentence can only have-- at most-- five words in them.

The point of this exercise is to make you really think about what it is that makes a story, and to choose very carefully only the most important words and ideas that you need to tell your story.
