Avery: Blog Of The Day

Here's what I found out (ps... I found this on answers.com not Factmonster or Wikipedia) - It all started in the 5th century. The European Celts thought that the animals had supernatural powers to change the weather sometimes. And when they woke up from hibernation to early they would get frightened by their shadow and go back into their little hole. That would mean that winter is going to last four-six more weeks. If they didn't see their shadow it would be spring very soon.
