We don't have a picture tour of the house yet, but Jen wants my kids and I to make a video tour of the place, and we'll get that posted up sometime tomorrow.
Today is a lazy day. Everyone slept in and then we unpacked and settled in. Jen, Ava and Kiki went to the store while the rest of us took naps (I woke up with the two year old very early this morning).I'm posting this while they're still at the store. Tonight we're going to play a marathon session of D&D, so we wanted to make sure everyone that was going to stay up and play is well-rested.
When the sun came up, we were able to really appreciate how beautiful the view is. Here's a shot off the back deck:
There's a boardwalk that leads from our house down to the beach. It's got a gazebo and seats down at the beach level, with a spot to drag a grill (if we had a grill). At high tide, the water is right on the other side of the berm where the gazebo is:
Here's the kids all posing at the gazebo:
The gazebo is such a beautiful place to relax. Connor and Mason decided to chill out there and play Lost Worlds:
The other kids decided to check out the beach. They were skeptical at first, now they can't get enough of it.
But we decided to try out all the amenities of the house. For instance, if you wash your hair in the whirlpool tub and turn on the jets... it make THE MOST AWESOME BUBBLES EVER!
And, of course, the hot tub is a popular activity. All the kids can comfortably be in it at the same time, but Jack is too scared, and Max is only comfortable sitting on the edge with his feet hanging in. Either way, though, it's unanimously considered the most awesome thing at the house:
