Gabe: Texas State Cemetery

We went to the state cemetery in Austin.  It was really big and had a lot of graves. There were three whole sections of confederate soldiers graves. We saw Stephen F. Austin's. We also saw Bob Bullock's grave.  There was also Ed Burleson's grave, he was a Colonel in the army. General  Johnston was in a big grave buried there.

How cool! I love cemeteries!!
In my genealogical research there are always folks wanting rubbings of relatives' headstones. It is nice to be able to make it and mail it to them.
And did you know there is a genealogical nationwide project to map out cemeteries?! It is a cool project to help folks find graves and date data for their family trees. But a tedious job to write all the data from each and every headstone from what I gather. I am hoping to map the tiny slave cemetery near my house one day.
