Connor: Blog Of The Day

The Toilet Garden

One warm summer day a young man decided to start a garden.  Due to the fact that he couldn't think of any where to start a garden he thought that the local dump might work.  He chose two decrepit, old, and very ugly  toilets as the area for flowers.  Next to the toilets was a plot of land with no trash whatsoever.  The young man, who knew this would be as good a place as any in which to plant trees.  The seeds, all planted, started growing a tiny bit.  The man came back every day to look at his garden and add more plants.  Each plant was placed with tenderness and care.  He watered his garden every day right before leaving.  Three years passed with this constant routine of planting watering and admiring his work.  The trees were starting to look more beautiful and would occasionally tell him, as if by magic or illusion, when there were weeds in his perfect garden.  Another year elapsed and the townspeople started caring for the garden as well.  The man waited until weekends to see his garden again.  One day the man and his girlfriend got married in the garden.  On that day the garden was filled with apples, grapes, tomatoes, and oranges.  Two years passed and the man visited his garden with a child of exactly one year old.  The garden had started to shrivel up due to the cold on that winter day.  After multiple years the garden grew to a great size and everyone knew about it.  The year following that the man died in a car accident.  The garden started to die, as if knowing that the man who had made sure it would be protected would never return.  After nine more years weeds had taken over and the plants were dead and gone.  The people didn't even remember what the garden once looked like and turned it back into a dump filled to the brim with garbage.  The End
