Connor's leg surgery went well this morning and we are now waiting in a recovery room to go home. He is feeling pretty good- MUCH better than after his regular leg surgeries. He says he feels "like crap", but he sure looks good!
Today Dr. Shapiro put two metal plates with screws into the growth plate at the bottom of his right femur. This will slow down the growth in this leg, which is quite a bit longer than the left. In the left leg he put one metal plate in the side so that the other side of the femur will grow more and help to straighten out that leg. Hopefully.
Well! What a quick trip-- in the middle of posting this Connor was released from the hospital and we are already home now at 3:00. He is doing great! Cranky, but he was able to walk by himself into the house so I expect by tomorrow he will be moving around pretty much like normal.
