Gabe: Paddle Trip

Last Sunday Dad, Marney and I went canoeing at Webberville Park in the Colorado River with the Campfire USA.  There were a lot more people there than the last time.  There were about 20 boats.  When we got there we moved our cars to the other end of the river so when we were done canoeing we would have our cars.  Then we waited when the other people moved their cars.  When we started it was hard for us and we were turning in circles so I had to switch canoes.  I didn't weigh enough to weigh down the end of the canoe so the wind and the current was pushing us in circles.  Then canoeing went good after we switched canoes.  We paddled for two hours and went about 4 1/2 miles.  My favorite stroke is the one where you turn sideways, it is called a pull stroke.  You put the paddle in out far in the water, and you pull it in to the boat and it makes you move towards the side that you are pulling.  When I got to the end I went back and I got back in my canoe with Marney and Dad so I could finish with them.  Then we got out and went to go eat burritos.  I thought it was really fun and I am excited about going in February for our two day trip.

Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles

One day a guy went to a pet store and a turtle got lost. The turtle was eating a plant that gave him super powers. So then he turned in to a green, little, one person car. Then he ate big buildings in the city. Then a red and a purple ninja came to fight him. So the ninjas thought they killed him but he was just on his back. So then he ate them.

My Tie Dye Picture By Avery

Here is a picture that I like to call Tie Dye. I call it that because it looks like a tie dye shirt. How I did it is I colored the paper with soft pastels and then spread all of the colors around with my hands. Then I used oil pastels to make a target. I also folded the paper on the corners. It's my favorite picture I have ever drawn because it is really colorful.

Daily Girl #53: Fun Stuff

My Little Grill

I made a little grill and it looks like a real one but it doesn't have a gas tank. I made food that goes with it. I used a small muffin cup container and then I put popsicle sticks with colored tissue paper on the bottom for the fire. Then I put red tissue paper for the flames inside the container. I got ribbon and I went across the top of the container three times and taped it, then went across the top of the container the other way and taped it. I got white tissue paper for the smoke and I taped it on to the ribbon. For the food I made a hot dog. How you do it is, you get a bunch of colored tissue paper and then you get a toothpick and stick it in and wrap tape around it all. I used a black crayon for the lighter.

The Hole Digger

My black puppy was digging a deep hole in my backyard. He found a rectangle shaped box of gold. The dog came in barking excited for his owner to come out and see the gold. The owner screamed loud because she didn't know there was gold in her backyard. She used the gold to buy a silver van. She went on a vacation with her dog to Mexico.
