Dear my lovely wife, Sally,
We just now returned from the war in Manassas! We won and even got a terrific feast out of it. Some people came to watch, but ran away in the middle. Things got really bad there, people actually got hurt and lost some limbs. Luckely, I'm perfectly fine. A couple of bruises and cuts won't do anything. How are you guys doing? Is pa still alive? He said your doing well. Waiting for everything to be over with.
